MEMORIAL HOSE LOAD
WE ALL CARRY THE LOAD - THE MEMORIAL HOSE LOAD
Since our inaugural event, we have not allowed equipment in the stairwells...but some rules were made to be broken. A North Texas firefighter decided to bring a section of hose (highrise pack) and carry it on September 11th, 2011.
During the climb this hose was passed back and forth and almost every climber was able to carry the hose for a short time on it's 110 story journey.
During the reception following the climb, the hose was passed around again, this time, to get the signatures of the climb participants. From that moment on, the Memorial Hose Load is now a tradition of the Dallas 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.

2011: Little Elm
DOES YOUR DEPARTMENT WANT TO SUPPLY THE MEMORIAL HOSE LOAD FOR OUR NEXT EVENT?
Before you volunteer your department, know that there are several requirements:
The Memorial Hose Load must be able to be permanently displayed at the host department.
A picture of the hose on display must be provided to the climb - we will display that picture and the story of it in our Legacy Area.
