John Barrett - Founder
John Barrett founded the Dallas 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb in 2011. John served as the Event Director from 2011 until 2015, then again in 2017.
In addition to starting the Dallas 9/11 Memorial Stair climb, John was a founding member of the Association of Memorial Stair Climbs in 2013.
Rodney Smith - Event Director
Rodney is the Chief of the Cedar Hill Fire Department. He has been an integral part of our planning committee since the very beginning serving this event in any way asked. He most recently served the Stair Climb as the Assistant Event Director of Operations for 3 years.

Chrystie Gibbs - Assistant Event Director - Admin / Support
Chrystie joined the Dallas 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb as a day of volunteer in 2027 and 2018, and then served as the Walk In Their Bootsteps Coordinator. She then served as the Hospitality Director in 2022.

LuAnn Portugal - Assistant Event Director - Finance
LuAnn started with the Dallas 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb in 2013 as a Day of Volunteer. In 2015 she joined the Planning Committee in the role of Volunteer Director. She joined the Steering Committee in 2018 as the Assistant Event Director - Finance
